Youth Ministry

The Upper Room Church of God in Christ Youth Ministry has been destined by God to be a hinderer and a roadblock against the plans of Satan to influence the lives of young people.

God has given Dr. Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. a powerful vision to reach young people for Jesus Christ! Whether you are a teen, jr. high, college student or concerned parent we'll keep you up-to-date on what's available for you.

The Purpose

  • To reach youth of all ages, backgrounds and communities for Christ.
  • To created a passion in young people for a true relationship with God.
  • To serve as an auxiliary that fulfills the vision of Pastor Patrick L. Wooden, Sr.
  • To enhance the spiritual, educational and social development of the youth of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ.

The Vision

  • To see youth who participate in the Youth Ministry programs reach their full potential in Christ becoming productive citizens and people of Godly character.
  • To prepare a generation of young people who stand for truth and make an impact in this present world.

To provide relevant activities, events and relationships that will influence youth to know, love, and serve the God of the Bible and His Son Jesus Christ

Children's Church - Educating a Samuel Generation" 1 Samuel 3:8-9

  • Research data shows that the most formative years of a child's life are the moment of birth to the age of six. In an effort to win the war for the lives and souls of our children, the Upper Room Children's Church has a comprehensive program of ministry every Sunday morning for children ages 4 through 7, beginning at 10:30am.
  • The children who participate in the Upper Room Children's Church every Sunday experience praise and worship along with a thorough curriculum of biblical teaching. There are also arts, crafts and activities that reinforce the "God First" Gospel as preached by our dynamic Pastor.

P.H.A.T. (Pursuing Holiness and Truth) Wednesday

  • Are you a teenager or almost a teenager and ready to be set on a collision course with a total change in how you live? Well shut off your Playstations, Turn off the TV., Get Off the Phone and get a ride to P.H.A.T. Wednesdays at the Upper Room Church of God in Christ.
  • In the Midst of Postmodernism, Homosexuality, Lesbianism and Sexual Promiscuity being promoted through High Schools, Middle Schools, Television and Radio, God is raising up a generation of teenagers and preteens that are equipped to stand up for truth and their faith in Christ.
  • Come meet with youth all over the Raleigh area every Wednesday Night @ 7:30 for music, food, fun and a relevant message for the real issues in your life.

YMV (Young Men of Valor)

  • Preparing young men between the ages of 13-18 to be mighty forces for Jesus Christ in their homes, schools, and communities.

Ladies of the Kings Court

Designed for young ladies between the ages of 13-18, teaching them to be young women of class by preparing them to make wise decisions at an early age.

Male Academy

Training pre-teen boys between the ages of 8 to 12 to be outstanding examples of young Christian men.

Daughters of Zion

Teaching pre-teen girls between the ages of 8 to 12 how to enjoy Christ while they are young as well as grooming them for their next stage in life.

Youth Evangelism

Designed to reach unsaved and unchurched young people in the city with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Parent's Initiative

Supporting the efforts of parents to train up their children through regular workshops, seminars and activities.

Face 2 Face Campus Ministries

ATTENTION ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS!!! You don't want to miss the hottest spot for college students in the Triangle area. Every Tuesday Night @ 8:00 pm we have FACE 2 FACE: City Wide College Night on the campus of NC State University. Come meet face to face with us and college students from Shaw U, St. Augustine's College and NC State who are coming to meet Face 2 Face with Jesus Christ.

For those who attend NC Central University and UNC Chapel Hill you won't be left out. There is a Face 2 Face Campus Ministry that meets every week on your campus.
