Our Purpose

The purpose of the Upper Room Singles Ministry is to be an auxiliary where all Single Christians may come and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. This is done through prayer and fasting, life application seminars and fellowships using “God First” principles. Our desire is to continue be a visible, dynamic, and innovative group in the church that is committed to faithfully serving Dr. Patrick L. Wooden, Sr., Upper Room COGIC, and the local community.

About Us

The Upper Room Singles Ministry is an explosive extension of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ. This exuberating group assists Dr. Patrick L. Wooden, Sr. in strengthening the walk of the Single born again believer, pointing them to Jesus Christ to live a “God First” life! The Singles Ministry consists of Singles from the age of 18 years old and up, who have either never been married, divorced, or widowed.

Our upcoming activities are based upon building fellowship and character amongst the Singles. We desire to have a reputation of being a Singles Department committed to good works and humble service. We desire to be a help to all other ministries and auxiliaries in the Church. We strive to build new friendships by hosting activities throughout the year that prepares us to be effective witnesses and soul winners for the Kingdom of God. Join us for one of our activities below:

Public Service Projects and Community Activism: We participate with various organizations throughout the Raleigh area such as: Wake Assisted Living, every second Saturday of the month; The Healing Place of Wake County is a non-profit rescue, recovery and rehabilitation facility for homeless men and women with alcohol and drug additions; SouthLight, is another organization that works with adults with drug and alcohol addictions; coordinate with the Youth Department to provide tutoring once a month; My Brother’s Keeper Shoe Drive, in collaboration with another organization who will send gently used shoes to third world countries; and coordinating with the Health and Fitness Ministry to promote the MS Walk in support of a Single Ministry member and a fellow brother member of the church.
Group Outings: These include planned events such as bowling, skating, movies, potluck dinners, restaurants, fellowshipping with other Singles’ Ministries.

Single's Administration

The Administration consists of individuals who dedicate their time and talents for the betterment of the Singles’ Ministry. While serving in this ministry, they also volunteer with excellence in other UR Ministries, work full-time, and a few are entrepreneurs.

Single's President Bio

Minister Anthony Maceo Robinson is a resident of Raleigh, North Carolina. He was saved at the age of 16, and later called into ministry at 19 years of age, while a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has received his BS degree in Biology from UNC and his Master’s Degree from Duke University. He is currently employed as a Physician Assistant at the UNC Jaycee Burn Center. He serves as the Single’s Department President of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. Patrick L. Wooden Sr. Under the anointed ministry of Minister Robinson, souls have been saved and lives have been changed.
