Our Purpose Statement
Our purpose is to be used by God to fulfill Levitical principles as recorded in the Holy Bible: to be pure and set apart for the cause of Christ making conducive the atmosphere through spiritual songs and praise; thus enabling the liberty and freedom of the Spirit of God to minister supernaturally through our Leader for salvation, healing and deliverance in the congregation. 2 Chronicles 20:21,22.
Our Music and Fine Arts Ministry consist of: The Sanctuary Choir, Praise and Worship teams for youth, men, women and young adults, Women and; Men's choirs, Youth Choir and Tiny tots (better known as the Sunshine Band Choir), Feet of Praise Dance Team and Theatrical Ministry. Yes, we have something for EVERYONE!!
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir of Upper Room is filled with a body of believers, full of the spirit of God and eager to do warfare through song. We are the primary source of music for the church. When those melodious voices sing the praises of God, the wounded hearts are healed. The depressed spirit becomes lifted and your heart is ready to receive a word of knowledge. Yes, your heart will be lifted. The Sanctuary Choir boasts 75 voices strong and still growing!! Come, hear and be blessed through this awesome music ministry. We can be heard every Sunday morning.
Praise Team
A smaller and more intimate, anointed group of men and women who user in the Praise of God. This unique, handpicked group of singers also live on the anointing of I Chronicles 20:21,22. You will hear this awesome and power packed group at the beginning of every service. Yes, we prepare you for what God is going to do in our services.
Men and Women's Choirs
Maybe you're not quite ready for the Sanctuary Choir and/or time doesn't allow you to commit to weekly singing and rehearsals. This special group of men and women usually perform on special occasions primarily during the Men's Conference and Women's Conference. However, they are extremely important to the Ministry and their talent is second to none!
Youth and Sunshine Band Choirs
Upper Room Youth are one of a kind; eager and aggressive to learn the things of God. Their growing voices are full of God's Praises. This group works in the Children's Church and Youth Department. They are so good they've even formed their own "Youth Church house Band." Children ages 3 to 18 are welcome.
Feet of Praise Dance Team
"Feet of Praise" is a ministry of liturgical dance. Everyone has a time where they dance before the Lord. The music and song allows dancers to highlight the lyrics through dance. Whether we are at home or in church services or public settings, we all experience arm movements, foot stomping and toe tapping, swaying or rocking to the music.
This ministry is unique because it offers a group of dancers who love the Lord an opportunity to dance before the Lord. If you are one that just can not sit still during a time of praise and worship, if you are one that just needs to show the Lord how you translate a song through dance movements, then you are the ideal candidate to join our ministry.
Theatrical Ministry
Yes, there are times when singing the part just isn't enough. Our Theatrical Ministry is bordering on semi-professional. The talents of the individuals who participate are greater than you can even imagine. The performances capture the heart and mind of the people. It opens the door of reality in showing the bible in its truest form. Our in-house play-writes are anointed to pen their God given inner most thoughts of script.
